My point is that it's likely not better anywhere else. Everyone knows this, and while people in those roles hopefully do the best they can, they're never going to be the focus of the organization. Nobody chooses a car because their finance guy is charming, nobody chooses a house because the local garbage collection is great, and nobody chooses a university because they have a great financial aid department. Support services in all things are typically second rate. I'll say this (as someone who was a college student 20 years ago). If I didn’t have to go through college to get the degree that I need for the field I want to get into, then I would’ve said fuck college and saved my money. It’s up to you to decide how it goes and how well informed you are throughout the whole process. Loan papers that quite literally ruin a lot of peoples financial health for a decade or so.Ĭolleges should be treated just like any other business.Ĥ year institutions only provide a gateway to getting a job you want. After all, they just wanna shove as many loan papers in your face as soon as your admitted. But I never once assumed that the college was going to be some philanthropic institution that will provide me with tons of help and assistance.

I’m in my second year and plan on going for the next two as well. But I just feel like people shouldn’t be going into college thinking they’re gonna be getting all this help with everything. Idk, kinda came off as a dick in my above comment. No, but you do pay for stuff that their marketing would have you think that you’re gonna get, only to be let down after purchasing, that’s just what happens as shitty as it is.
