In desperate situations you might call it on any of your esper cards. ] can be great against Green or Red depending on your pod. Slap that bad boy on ] and start stealing artifacts which will get you more Faeries!!įor a go wide strategy, you have a lot of boardwipes and they aren't all one sided. I like ] because it nets you a card and a faerie with alela in play. But you get +1 tokens feom Alela as well as an anthem effect from her which helps to keep you ahead of the pack.Īdd in an ] (comes with Faerie) to drive home that you are the best flier. It protects you from all forms of removal that doesn't come from existing permanants or from creature ETBs ( I think ]'s Split Second may get around it too it doesn't). But the shroud auras tend to be more interesting (one cost Cloak of Mirrors, unblockable Protective Bubble, self-shrouding Diplomatic Immunity, flash Alexi's Cloak). ] doesn't stop you from attaching other auras to her like shroud effects do, and also draws you cards if she dies anyway. Heck, I would run personally run hexproof or shroud auras as well.

], plus ] to tutor for either piece, or ] or ]. You have Lightning Greaves, but I would definitely run more hexproof as well. (Both cost mana.) If you really intend on going wide, Military Intelligence.Īs far as rattlesnakes go, ] and ] turn all your Faeries into flying deathtouch blockers. Dawn of Hope keys off Alela's Lifelink to draw. Mentor of the Meek, by drawing off faeries entering the battlefield. Alela can play a pseudo-"eggs" deck, since she generates extra value off playing the egg cards. In the general case, I'd look for cheap artifact and enchantment cantrips. Some form of protection is definitely important. I would probably cut some of them.Īdditionally, smart opponents will look at your board and realise that everything on your field is completely dependent on Alela, and they'll try to remove her.

If you're in a creature-heavy meta you'll be chump-blocking with them so they won't even stick around, and if someone has blockers running around then sending faeries at them is kinda suicide for the faeries. WIth only 9 Anthem effects, you won't reliably draw enough to turn your faeries into really dangerous hitters. Having All That Glitters means you can threaten a 10/11 Flying Lifelinker on two mana. I think it's important to have because your deck doesn't really have a strongly defined win condition besides swarming the board with faeries - and you may need to throw some of them into the path of dragons and demons that are trying to kill you. Let me know if yours goes any better.Īll That Glitters is probably worth carrying - it keys off literally half your deck. Going wide strategy doesn't work so great with Alela. I am also not sure if Eldrazi Monument is good since I don't know if I can handle paying the cost of sacrificing a creature each turn while still planning on going wide. Lastly, should I add cards such as ], ], ], or ]? I really want to put Duelist Heritage over Cathar's Crusade or the Immortal Sun due to the difference in cost, but I am not sure. I know the deck would be better if I selected artifacts or enchantments and not both, but I really don't want to be primarily artifact heavy or enchantment heavy since two decks in my playgroup use artifacts only and enchantments only.

I believe I can stay alive with the exile enchantments, board wipes, and stax effects. Should I change my plan of action? I feel that my deck is too reliant on Alela, so once the group sees how it works, they'll target Alela early on before I can build a board.

Though, I am not sure what else to add or cut any suggestions? Feel free to "Group" to "Custom." If it helps, I've tagged cards such as "Board Wipe," "Removal," etc. My plan is to get Alela as fast as I can, go wide with a bunch of faerie tokens from enchantments and artifacts, and then hopefully finish with the buffed up tokens. This is my first deck that I have constructed, so I am not sure what to change and would greatly appreciate the help of this subreddit.
